A cinema which closed its doors decades ago - the good ol' Giardini right in front of the Public Gardens - has been given a new lease of life by Milan's Provincial Authorities, now named Città Metropolitana di Milano.
.:. Under the name of Spazio Oberdan (from the square nearby), it now belongs to the town's Cineteca, or film library. Stored in air-conditioned rooms is an enviable collection of vintage celluloid, while rare films and art exhibitions are scheduled in the premises restyled by architect Gae Aulenti.
