In Milan, 2015 is the Expo year. It therefore doesn't come as a surprise that the World Exhibition's managers are also the major sponsors of the most appealing art exhibition currently on in town.
.:. The link? The same as for the Expo theme: "Feeding the Planet", i.e. the land as a supplier of food. Hence Van Gogh's peasants and countrywomen provide the file rouge here, like a metaphysics of the relationship between humanity and nature.
.:. Most of the 47 exhibited works are on loan from the Kröller-Müller Museum, Otterloo, Holland. Among the other loaners, the Van Gogh Museum from Amsterdam and the Centraal Museum from Utrecht should be mentioned.
