Both citizens of the Most Serene Republic of Venice, uncle Antonio Canal aka Canaletto (1697-1768) and nephew Bernardo Bellotto (1721-1780) lived and worked in the same decades as Giambattista Tiepolo (1696-1770), the ''last painter" in terms of quality before visual arts began turning to technical and not necessarily realistic solutions.
.:. The almost photographic precision of their panoramas - from Venice to Madrid or Warsaw - cannot hide an exceptional creativity, The exhibition, which is hosted in the Milanese art gallery of the main Italian bank, perfectly displays this creativity.
