For the past twenty years, the mass meetings for Italian book-lovers have been the Festival della Letteratura in Mantua (September) and the Salone del Libro in Turin (May). This balance is now tilted by the great Milanese publishers, which have built a war machine meant to impose their festival as the indisputable leader in the industry.
.:. The big names invited to discussions and presentations are in fact many, Kinsella, Grossmann, Welsh, Yehoshua, and the Italians Stefano Boeri and Michela Murgia among them.
.:. Like with the Salone del Mobile a few weeks before, the exhibition itself - at Fiera Milano - is flanked by hundreds of big and small events held throughout the city.
