Piccolo Teatro - Teatro Strehler

Piccolo Teatro della Città di Milano was founded after World War Two by the famous director, Giorgio Strehler, soon to become one the best reputed public theaters in Europe.
.:. Its current
main headquarters, designed by architect Marco Zanuso, were inaugurated in 1996. Three years later, after the director died, they were entitled to Strehler himself.
.:. Despite its name - "Piccolo" (to be pronounced
pee-kko-lo, with the stress on the first vowel) means "little" - the new complex is spacially abundant, a physical as well as cultural presence in the city center.
