Museo del Design Italiano
from April 9, 2019 through February 28, 2025

more pictures .:. Since the history of design can be told in different ways, in December 2007 the Triennale – Milan's design institute par excellence – opened a new museum deliberately bound to change every year.
.:. The problem was, however, that visitors from all over the world wanted to see a real museum, where the history and the stories of Italian Design could be enjoyed in full.
.:. Under the presidency of Stefano Boeri - the architect who, right here in Milan, designed the Vertical Forest - the problem has been addressed. A wing of the Triennale exhibition building has been offered to the project.
.:. Though the timespan considered is limited to the early 1980s, selecting which products to display was not an easy choice. A partially new display was completed in April 2023, anyway., and another took place in October 2024, adding fashion to furnishings and digital tools. Under a new temporary title – Forme mobili (or “Mobile shapes”) – volatility has entered the Triennale.
.:. Pictures of the 2023-2024 edition of the Museo del Design Italiano can be found on the CiaoMilano Flickr web presence.
