.:. design / permanent, at last
from April 9, 2019
Since the history of design can be told in different ways, in December 2007 the Triennale - Milan's design institute par excellence - opened a new museum deliberately bound to change every year.
.:. The problem was, however, that visitors from all over the world wanted to see a real museum, where the history and the stories of Italian Design could be enjoyed in full.
.:. Under the new Triennale president Stefano Boeri - the architect who, right here in Milan, designed the Vertical Forest - the problem is beginning to be addressed. A wing of the Triennale exhibition building has been offered to the project. Though the timespan considered is limited to the early 1980s, selecting which products to display was not an easy choice.
.:. A new huge pavilion, to be dug in the underground of the Parco Sempione nearby, will soon help.
