This is a group of some eighty fascinating works produced between 1920 and 1935 by some well-known artists (Casorati, De Chirico, Carrà, Severini) and others (Donghi, Oppi, Broglio) less so. They share time, a private collection (the same for most), and a possible root in the Neue Sachlickheit, or “New Objectivity” from Germany.
.:. The trend is called "Magic Realism", and indeed those were years when dealing with magic was better than thinking of the real.
