Cinema Godard Screenings
September 6 though 29, 2024
The Fondazione Prada's Cinema Godard restarts its activities after the summer break with a wide-ranging calendar of talks, retrospectives, previews and special screenings, expanded with new proposals offering the opportunity to discover and explore the cinematographic panorama of the present and the past. The program, curated by Paolo Moretti, is divided into different directions conceived as sections of an ever-evolving festival.
.:. #Soggettiva investigates the work of the American director and screenwriter Paul Schrader. #Studio explores unprecedented contamination between cinema and visual languages with Spanish director and visual artist Alberto Mielgo.
.:. #Nocturna delves into genre cinema with the restored version of the cult film The Texas Chainsaw Massacre by Tobe Hooper. #Sonic reveals the connections between music and moving images with the documentary ZEF: The Story of Die Antwoord by South African producer and director Jon Day. On the occasion of the recent restoration of eleven films by Roberto Rossellini, the new #RR extended retrospective explores the work of the Italian director through a selection of his masterpieces.
.:. There is also #Classici, which rediscovers the films that have marked the history of cinema and the collective imagination, and #Selezione, which brings together some of the most relevant titles of the current film season.
