Giornate FAI di Primavera
Saturday: March 22 and Sunday, March 23, 2025
The
FAI (Fondo per l'Ambiente Italiano) is a sort of National Trust of Italy, a private foundation allowing old mansions and buildings of historical importance - whose maintenance the owners can no longer afford - to be still open to the public.
.:. Every year since 1993, as a promotion for their activity, the FAI organizes the "Giornate FAI di Primavera" or FAI Spring Days, open door weekends throughout Italy. Hundreds of fascinating places otherwise closed to the public, or usually difficult to enter, can be exceptionally accessed.
.:. In Milan you can visit this year, among others,
Palazzo Clerici with frescoes by Giambattista Tiepolo, the
Umanitaria philanthropic institution with its renaissance cloisters, and the
San Siro Race Course. Lovers of period trains might also like to visit one at the railway station of
Novate, in the hinterland. Entrance to some of the buildings is restricted to FAI members, but you can get your membership at the moment.
.:. The
dedicated web pages are in Italian only.
