In May, #Anteprima presents the Italian premiere of The Phoenician Plot (The Phoenician Plot) by American filmmaker Wes Anderson, in competition at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, and the film by French director Léonor Serraille, Ari. #Supernova presents That Summer in Paris, the debut feature film by French director Valentine Cadic.
.:. Matthew Barney is the focus of the monthly #Studio event. On Friday 23 May, a programme of screenings will present the entire Cremaster cycle, including Cremaster 1 (1995), whose preparatory materials are on display in the exhibition A Kind of Language: Storyboards and Other Renderings for Cinema, running at the Osservatorio until 8 September 2025.
.:. #Nocturna explores a preview of Reflet dans un diamant mort (2025), the latest film by the visionary directing duo Hélène Cattet and Bruno Forzani, in competition at the latest edition of the Berlin Film Festival. #Queerelle investigates contemporary queer cinema with Victoria Verseau's debut film Trans Memoria (2023). #Sonic introduces Tall Tales, by artist Jonathan Zawada, accompanying the release of the album of the same name by record producer Mark Pritchard and Thom Yorke, frontman of The Smile and Radiohead.

A new section dedicated to the recent past of contemporary cinema is inaugurated to bridge the gap between #Classici and the current films presented in #Selezione. #Moderni presents works that, starting in the 2000s, have introduced new codes, renewing established genres in the film landscape.
