Museo del Design Italiano
from February 7, 2026
Since the history of design can be told in different ways, in December
2007 the Triennale – Milan's design institute par excellence – opened a new museum deliberately bound to
change every year.
.:. The problem was, however, that visitors from all over the world wanted to see a
real museum, where the history and the stories of
Italian Design could be enjoyed in full.
.:. Under the presidency of Stefano Boeri – the architect who, right here in Milan, designed the Vertical Forest – the problem has been addressed. A wing of the Triennale exhibition building has been offered to the project.
.:. A partially
new display was completed in April 2023. Another took place in October 2024, adding
fashion to furnishings and digital tools. Now the museum has been rearranged once again, displaying recently acquired material.
.:. Pictures of the
2023-2024 edition of the Museo del Design Italiano can be found on the
CiaoMilano Flickr web presence.
