One century from the birth of Ettore Sottsass Jr., the Triennale Design Museum devotes to the architect and designer a monographic exhibition curated by Barbara Radice (pictured).
.:. Sottsass (Innsbruck 1917-Milano 2007) was probably the most ingenious character in the golden years ot Italian design, at the end of the second millennium.
.:. The title of the exhibition, and the book, There is a Planet, refers to a project that Sottsass started in the 1990s for the German publisher Wasmuth, but never completed. The idea for the book, now published by Electa, was to form five groups of photographs taken by Sottsass on his travels around the world, each with its own title and essay. The photos portray architecture, houses, doors, people and situations involving dwellings and, generally speaking, the presence of humans on the planet.
