no slideshow .:. It took three years, and this is the result. Matt Mullican (Santa Monica, CA, 1951; pictured) has been given here at the Hangar Bicocca the opportunity of his biggest exhibition ever. Large banners welcome visitors. Then the gigantic room is laid out as a sort of maze to waist height, divided in red (psyche and subjectivity), black (communication), yellow (art and science), blue (everyday life), and green (nature).
.:. Glassware and embalmed birds, architectural models and watercolours, photographs and set tables may not be easy to be brought back to Mullican's convoluted philosophy, but the result of the three years' work is highly professional and absolutely fun.
.:. At the end, the Hangar's enormous Cube room is completely carpeted with plans, geometric patterns, sentences and sketches. The artist says he could remain there for hours, and discover new points of view on his own works. We can trust him.
