Mario Schifano. Tutto nelle carte
September 21 through November 4, 2023

one picture only .:. This is a major retrospective aimed to shed light on the extensive and varied production of works on paper by Mario Schifano (Homs, Libya, 1934-Rome, 1998) from the 1960s.
.:. From the early years of the monochromes - which contain and re-elaborate street art, the language of pop culture, not as pop art, but rather as a popular language - up until the emulsion canvases, paper was always present in Schifano's art as the constant for any idea that intersected the moment.
.:. The Milanese gallery established by Giorgio Marconi in 1965 was among the very first to appreciate and promote Schifano. The extremely high level of both the works and the display is not surprising. Private is beautiful.
