Festivaletteratura
Wed, September 4 through Sun, September 8, 2024

Streets, squares and palazzi of the Renaissance town of Mantua are populated by readers and writers for the 28th time. The list of international guests includes the 2024 Pulitzer Price winner Nathan Thrall, the Prix Goncourt winner Jean-Baptiste Andrea, the 2023 Booker Prize winner Paul Lynch, Emmanuel Carrère, Colum McCann (the writer of Apeirogon), Sorj Chalandon, Andrés Montero, Alejandro Zambra, Mona Awad, Goldie Goldbloom, and Gerbrand Bakker.
.:. Readings, lectures and meetings, along with exhibitions, concerts and theatre, are all part of the event, which obviously involves a number of outstanding Italian participants like Alessandro Piperno, Maria Pace Ottieri, Peppe Servillo, Franco Cardini, and Zero Calcare.
.:. Since the festival got very popular, booking in advance for the selected meetings through the festival's website is mandatory.
.:. Some pictures from the 2014 edition of Festivaletteratura can still be found at the CiaoMilano Facebook page.
.:. A dozen direct trains from Milan reach Mantova - this is the Italian name of the town - in about two hours.
