Wednesday, August 6 through Saturday, August 16, 2015
For the 78th year, Locarno's
Piazza Grande is at the heart of the eponymous international film festival. .:. Locarno's awards are called
Pardi, or Leopards. Some of them are assigned among a selection of renowned directors, others to promising new talents (
Pardi di Domani) or seasoned artists. This year career
Pardi go to Jackie
Chan, Emma
Thompson, Lucy
Liu and Alexander
Payne (pictured). The program involves nine venues. Films at Piazza Grande, to begin with, are listed
here.
.:. Locarno is itself a nice town on the banks of Lake Maggiore, some 120 km north of Milano.
