In order to fight any further diffusion of Covid-19, people are advised to be very cautious when meeting others. A distance of a meter or so should be kept.
.:. Though Milan and Lombardy are still at risk, some behaviours are allowed. Not only shops are at work, and bars and restaurants may serve, but also museums, theaters and cinemas operate again. Starting from May 1st, 2022, even providing evidence to be vaccinated or healed when entering some venues has no longer been compulsory, and from October 1st face masks are requested in retirement homes and hospitals only.

April 18 through 23, 2023

Every year Milan, the world capital of design, hosts the Salone del Mobile, an international fair on home furnishings attended by some 2,000 exhibitors and 650 young designers, who come from around the world to display the latest trends in the furniture industry. The #salonedelmobile2023 is back to its usual month this year, after the pandemic compelled to postpone to September in 2021 and to June in 2022.
.:. The 2023 edition of the Salone, the 61st, is held in the Fiera district at Rho-Pero, and is complemented by Euroluce.
.:. Though the fair is traditionally reserved to trade people, it is open to the general public on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23, and you can visit every day the SaloneSatellite (entrance is free), a breeding ground for selected young designers.
.:. During the "Design Week", however, the whole city is a sort of non-stop event. Day by day information about the number of special events taking place in showrooms and stores around town are provided by trade magazines like Interni. Also visit the Fuorisalone and Archiproducts guides.
