Cinema Godard crosses the spectrum of moving images to transcend the boundaries between genres, temporalities and territories. The monthly calendar, curated by Paolo Moretti, features screenings and public talks.
.:. #Supernova presents, in collaboration with FESCAAAL, Bye Bye Tibériade (2023) by French-Palestinian-Algerian director and actress Lina Soualem. #Studio explores the work of Franco-British artist and filmmaker Beatrice Gibson. #Queerelle presents, in collaboration with MiX Festival, the premiere of 20,000 Species of Bees (2023) by Estibaliz Urresola Solaguren. #Sonic introduces Antipop (2023), Jacopo Farina's film about Cosmo's biography and artistic journey.
.:. Among the various screenings, #Classici dedicates a tribute to the Japanese author Ozu Yasujiro with some of his restored masterpieces in collaboration with Tucker Film. #Selezione features some of the most interesting international releases such as Yuri Ancarani's Il popolo delle donne (2023), Werner Herzog's The Fire Within: A Requiem for Katia and Maurice Krafft (2022), Wes Anderson's Asteroid City (2023), Alice Winocour's Paris Memories (2022), Kristoffer Borgli's Dream Scenario (2023), Martin Scorsese's Killers of the Flower Moon (2023) and Christian Petzold's Afire (2023).
.:. December will see the conclusion of #JLG. This retrospective began in February and analyses the vast and complex oeuvre of Jean-Luc Godard, proposing the films made by the Franco-Swiss director between 2001 (Eloge de l'amour) and 2018 (Le Livre d'image).
