The best kept secret in Milan is a garden, an historic one, and it's not a secret. The matter is that since time immemorial the garden of the
Villa Reale, aka Villa Belgiojoso Buonaparte aside the wider Public Gardens, can be accessed only by kids under 12 years – and their parents, in case. What's a secret to you is how the gardens look like, unless you have children or can rent some for a walk.
.:. Here comes a fashion brand, namely
Furla, which found an agreement with the City (that owns both the villa and the garden), an art gallery (
Vistamare) and a quite interesting artist (
Sara Enrico, represented by Vistamare) to populate the historic greenery with purposely devised installations. You have the opportunity to come to know a 18th-century garden otherwise not accessible, and enjoy some artworks en plein air.
.:. Enrico's creations make a medley with flowerbeds and very old plane trees, where only some textile shapes and occasional coloured metalworks interrupt nature. 18th-century statues appear abruptly here and there. The secret is over, but don't forget to bring a repellant with you.
