The island
December 4, 2025 through October 30, 2026

Germano Celant, the original curator of the Prada art world, is no longer with us. Yet, the Fondazione Prada is still on a quest for the most fashionable avant-garde, and their current choice of Hito Steyerl (Munich, Germany, 1966; pictured) for their Osservatorio premises in Milan does not come as a surprise.
.:. Take a lift to the top floor of the "Milan's parlor", and step into a dark, completely artificial world, made of AI and digital animation. Be careful not to stumble on the blue lines on the floor: they are steps. Is this scenario boring, as one might guess? Not at all. The result catches our full attention, and won't let it go.
.:. The island of the exhibition's title – though this is less of an exhibition than a video art project – happens to be a 7000-years-old man-made island in Dalmatia, used as an excuse to fight fascism and muse upon quantum mechanics. Though uindescribable in a few words, it is brilliant.
