The tree-lined square in front of the
State University is called Largo Richini, misnomer of architect
Francesco Maria Ricchino).
A strange looking skyscraper appears from here, its top wider than its base: the Torre Velasca. It was built in 1956-58 and designed by a famous Milanese architectural équipe,
BBPR (for Banfi,
Belgiojoso, Peressutti and Rogers).
