one picture only .:. An important show-cum-sale, MiArt is held in Milan's city trade quarter with an eye to making the general public more familiar with modern and contemporary art. The event, in which 186 Italian and foreign galleries are taking part, is complemented by Talks, conferences, meetings, and a series of events - the Art Week, with several galleries open till late - which take place around town from Tuesday, April 1st till Sunday, April 7. Art Night on Saturday 6.

There are an Established section for particularly trusted galleries, and an Emergent one for cutting edge professionals, plus Generations, comparing an artist of today (like Connors or Beshty) with one from yesterday (from D'Orazio to Balla), Decades, retracing the recent art history in Italy, and Object for design galleries.
.:. MiArt shares the leading role among contemporary art fairs in Italy with Artissima (in Turin, November) and Arte Fiera (in Bologna, January-February).
