Dear Mr./Mrs,
In the month of april I would like to visit the city of Milan, still I have two weekends to consider, however I have two problems/questions:
1. How is it possible that nowhere I can find a hotel for a decent price in the week of 16-21 april?
and
2. Are there any extra activities undertaken in the city in the Easter weekend (8-9 april), I read that the shops are closed anyway on these two days?
I am looking forward to your answer

April 17 through 22, 2012 are the days of this year's Salone del Mobile world event - arguably the most important design and furnishings annual convention on the planet. No wonder you can't find moderate accommodation available.
As for Easter and Easter Monday, it is true that most shops (not chains ones, at least) are going to be closed. All shops, instead, are scheduled to be regularly open on Saturday April 7.
There is, however, a liberalization process currently on in the field, and this year more Milan shops might be open on Easter and Easter Monday. It is - as sometimes happens in this country - still uncertain.
